Abstract: With rapid growth of communication industry, there is continuous demand of more compact ,multiband and highly efficient devices. It is also desired that system performs in rugged and harsh conditions. So there is ever increasing requirement of devices and components which offers low loss and high performance. Modern microwaves play very major role in high frequency communication system. Rapid development. of 2G, 3G and currently 4G technologies require highly effective microwave components and devices like antenna , oscillators, power dividers etc. The current trend to fdesign devices such that are easily compatible with MMIC. This dissertation focus on design of power dividers with CPW technology. CPW technology has proved to be better than microstrip technology. In this dissertation we have designed single band and dual band power dividers using coupled CPW. Coupled CPW based power dividers has inherent advantages over microstrip power divers since there is no requirement of ring line structure and placement of resistors is convenient. Also a suitable methodology is suggested with which single and dual band power dividers can be designed and implemented. A novel power divider without using resistors is also designed. Designed components are fabricated and measured to confirm the simulation results.
