Abstract: The aim of dissertation is to design single carrier frequency division multiple access system using space frequency block .code and receiver diversity which provides satisfactory performance over fast fading channel environment. The performance evaluation will be checked through the MATLAB R2009b simulator. There are comparisons of performance among 1x1 (Tx-Rx) single carrier frequency division multiple access system, 2x1 (Tx-Rx) single carrier frequency division multiple access system using space frequency block codes, 1x2 (Tx-Rx) single carrier frequency division multiple access system using receiver diversity and 2x2 (Tx-Rx) single carrier frequency division multiple access system using space frequency block codes and receiver diversity. We describe the design of single carrier frequency division multiple access system using transmitter diversity technique, receiver diversity technique and combination of both transmitter and receiver diversity techniques. We have compared the performance of these systems with the conventional single. carrier frequency division multiple access system. The main focus is on design of single carrier frequency division multiple access system using space frequency block codes and receiver diversity which enables the desired system to combat the detrimental effects of fast fading.
