Abstract: Universities have made a significant impact upon the cities in which they are located. The various ways in which the presence of a university manifests itself in the urban environment ranges from its physical impact as a major land user to the socio-economic links which are fostered within the local community. It has been felt that Roorkee University needs attention in the field of transportation. This study is an outcome of common feeling that atsome places in Roorkee University pedestrians are causing interference to the road users. Some studies have been done e.g. origin and destination, volume count, street lighting etc. Road width has been measured at different places and movements of school children are 'noted. It is clear from study that Roorkee University requires sidewalks and cycle tracks and some other measures to make its roads more beneficial to road users. And Amod Path-, Karam Path, Vigyan Path and Nirman Path are acting as main roads of Roorkee University. )
