Authors: Kumar, Bhupendra
Issue Date: May-2023
Publisher: IIT Roorkee
Abstract: Structural evaluation of existing structures is important in current times. The main aim of the structural evaluation is to determine whether the existing structure has sufficient capacity to bear the current state of loadings. The main objective of this report is to evaluate the existing RC building. The tools used to evaluate the structural capacity are NDT testing, Core sample tests, and analysis of the structure in ETABS. The NDT tests performed are mainly the ultrasonic pulse velocity test, Rebound hammer test. The structural analysis has been carried out in ETABS mainly focusing on finding out the design reinforcement mainly for earthquake loading. The evaluation of the G+3 has been carried out, building situated in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, and various retrofitting alternatives has been proposed with their comparative cost analysis.
