As the world is approaching towards more innovative and new technologies in the construction industry, repair and rehabilitation of older structures has become a huge challenge. A large part of the construction done during 1940-75 is reinforced brick masonry particularly in Scandinavian countries. But over the period, the effect of corrosion has started appearing in these buildings which has raised serious durability concerns in the reinforced brick masonry. In different parts of the world, research for understanding the corrosion mechanism in reinforced brick masonry and the ways of controlling the corrosion and its repair is going on. To understand the effect of corrosion and ageing on the structural properties and dynamic behaviour of the structures, we have modelled two buildings on the macro-modelling software ETABS and have analysed the buildings. The conclusions drawn can be used for the repair and retrofitting of existing structures and also to design buildings having improved resistance to corrosion.en_US
