Title: NVESTIGATION OF LAMB WAVE SCATTERING FROM SINGLE WELDED LAP JOINTS

Abstract: This article presents a review of analysis of Scattering of Lamb waves by single welded Lap joints. They were initially used in testing of weld joints in large storage tanks. The attempt in this paper will be to present a simulation model which would theoretically test the scattering phenomenon of lamb waves when they are passed through a single welded Lap joint. Semi analytical Finite Element analysis would be used for the study of the above technique. Variation of reflection coefficient with respect to changing lap width and also the energy error is presented as an outcome. Effort has been made, to include all the important contributions that are there in the current area of interest. The conclusion also includes the crucial areas that are used for future research needed the best implementation of the technique. The most important objective of this paper is to serve interests of the engineers and researchers that are already involved in the analysis of scattering of Lamb waves through single welded Lap Joints.
