Title: Synthesis of para-Quinone Methides (p-QMs) and Isatin based Nitrogen Heterocycles and their Synthetic Transformations

Abstract: Various p-quinone methides have been synthesized from benzaldehyde and its derivatives via their reaction with 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol. Isatin-based para-quinone methide has also been synthesized via a similar reaction. Syntheses of various isatin-based derivatives via metal-free routes in satisfactory yields are also done which find application in the synthesis of various bioactive compounds.
