Epoxidation of cyclohexene is an important topic for the synthesis of fine chemicals as they can be used as an effective intermediate to synthesize wide variety of other compound and also epoxides are of great importance in chemical technology and organic synthesis. In this work, a heterogeneous catalyst has been synthesized which consisted of Ni (II) Schiff base anchored on MCM-41(mesoporous silica). MCM-41 synthesized with CTAB (Cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide) and TEOS (Tri ethoxy orthosilicate), after synthesis MCM-41 functionalized with APTES (3-Aminopropyl triethoxy silane). A bidentate (NN) Schiff base was immobilized at the surface of pore wall of functionalized MCM-41. Finally, a Nickel metal salt added to get heterogeneous catalyst. Synthesized catalyst has been characterized with P XRD, IR, TGA and MPAES analysis. Catalytic activity of above heterogeneous catalyst was investigated with cyclohexene using tert-BuOOH as an oxidant.en_US
