Abstract: Chalcone epoxide are extensively used as intermediate in the synthesis of natural products and bioactive molecules like Flavones and Isoflavones which are considered as health promoting and disease preventing dietary supplements. Herein, we have reported a process for the synthesis of epoxide of 2’-hydroxychalcone. Initial protection of hydroxy group of chalcone using benzyl bromide results 2’-benzoxychalcones which further undergoes epoxidation resulting the product in considerable yield.
