| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation presents a sustainable technique to synthesize 2(1H)-quinoxalinone and its derivatives using a ball mill. Synthesis of these compounds is a major research area because of their versatile chemical properties and range of applications. They are prepared simply by grinding diamines with ethyl-2-oxoacetate in a ball mill without using any solvent. Furthermore, their regioisomers are separated using column chromatography and are characterized using different spectroscopic techniques. The approach presented is not only clean and green, but it is also cost-effective as well as atom and step-economical, resulting in quinoxalinones in high yields. | en_US |
