| Abstract: | The ability of Arabidopsis thaliana to respond to heat shock is governed by an intricate regulatory network comprised of six families of heat shock proteins and twenty-one known transcription factors. It is well known that, in addition to heat, heat shock proteins (HSPs) and heat shock transcription factors (HSFs) play an important part in other forms of abiotic stresses. The main abiotic stress brought on by climate change or global warming is heat stress. Heat shock proteins are molecular chaperones that are widely present in plants and play a significant role in the plant’s ability to survive heat stress. These HSPs are transcriptionally regulated by the HSFs. The HSFs have been divided into three conserved classes A, B, and C. The role and function of Class C HSFs are not well-documented and currently under study. The goal of this study is to check the activity of AtHsfC1 promoter in heat tolerance of Arabidopsis thaliana. In present study, we performed cloning and characterization of AtHsfC1 promoter (ProAtHsfC1) into entry vector pENTR D-TOPO and destination binary vector pMDC164. Further expression analysis of GUS gene driven by ProAtHsfC1 under heat stress conditions was performed. |
