dc.description.abstractDiabetes Mellitus and the complications associated with it are becoming an increasing cause of concern. Despite the fact that there are drugs accessible, their usage is limited by their negative effects. Alternative strategies are therefore needed. In recent years, the use of nutraceuticals has drawn a lot of interest. One of them that has been utilised for a variety of illnesses since ancient times is honey. The goal of the study is to demonstrate the use of Indian Honey to manage Diabetes. The most likely explanation for why honey was found to lower blood glucose levels in earlier investigations, was identified to be an increase in the expression of GLUT4. Gene expression studies revealed that the sugars are most likely the bioactive components responsible for the anti-diabetic properties of honey. ChREBP was determined as the possible target through which honey is imparting its effects and a novel lncRNA-miRNA ChREBP axis was deciphered explaining the probable pathway. Overall, the results suggested that Indian honey can be used as an effective nutraceutical for the management of diabetes but clinical studies are required to establish the same.en_US
