| Abstract: | Neutral atom qubits are a promising candidate for the physical realization of Quantum Computing [1][2]. One of the most important requirement for it is the high fidelity entangling gates. Numerous schemes are proposed for these gates but the experimental verification is not available for all. We presents the study of implementation of the controlled-z and controlled-not quantum gate between two individual neutral atoms and their simulation using an open source python package: Pulser [3]. We extracted the gate fidelities different set of errors and presents their comparison. We further extend it to produce bell states using these protocols and verified them. We also performed simulations Quantum Algorithm using these pulse based gates and verified the results using available quantum gates in Qiskit. In the experimental part of thesis, we use the Saturated Absorption Spectroscopy (SAS) technique in a laser-locking mechanism to create a Magneto-Optical Trap (MOT) for 87Rb. Laser cooling and trapping [2] is an essential part for perform quantum computing operations. Hence, in this thesis, we perform one of the fundamental steps of quantum computation with neutral atoms. In the last chapter, we discuss the results of this experiment. |
