| Abstract: | Natural hazards such as floods are a significant threat to human life and property across the globe. To mitigate their impacts, it is crucial to accurately predict, monitor, and understand the spatial distribution of flood-prone areas. Traditional flood mapping methods rely on time-consuming and expensive field observations, which can be limited in spatial coverage. However, recent advances in satellite technology offer a solution by utilizing satellite radar data to derive locational intelligence of natural hazards, particularly on floods (Liu Z., 2016) The use of geospatial technology and remote sensing has revolutionized our ability to monitor and model natural hazards (Chen, 2015). With Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and satellite imagery, we can collect and analyse data on flood-prone areas, including topography, hydrology, and land use patterns (Liu Z., 2016). Deriving locational intelligence from this data offers a better understanding of the spatial distribution and behaviour of natural hazards. |
