| Abstract: | With rising urbanization, industrialization, and increasing population, urban air pollution is also rapidly deteriorating. Especially for vulnerable populations like children, the elderly, and those with respiratory or lung disorders, air pollution generally has major detrimental health effects. Air pollution is a catastrophe for public health. Along with deteriorating ecosystems or the environment, eradicating the atmosphere, and hampering natural phenomena, air pollution has some very serious adverse effects on the environment. The government of India has started or taken a lot of steps to mitigate the problem of air pollution one of the major initiatives was the National Clean Air Program (NCAP) for monitoring and regulating pollution levels regularly can aid in observing changes in pollution levels over time. We will study different types of air pollutants and how their concentration varies in different months. The trend of air pollutant concentration levels in recent years. We will see the steps taken by the government to reduce vehicular emissions. The results of implementing the BS6 engine and replacing BS4 engines. The study makes use of air quality monitoring methods, by collecting data and analyzing. Residual burning is one of the primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions. In India, the National Capital Region (NCR) or Delhi is one of the cities which is highly polluted and face a lot of problem due to air pollution. The major reason for high air pollution is stubble burning, pollutants from vehicular emissions, etc. In this study, we would know the major reason for stubble burning in India. The effects of stubble burning or residual burning from states of Punjab, Haryana, and Western Uttar Pradesh on Delhi (or National Capital Region) and what are the future implications of these and the harmful effects of it. We will try to study the reason for the high Air Quality Index value or high pollutant concentration during the month of October and November of every year in recent years. Finally, we will see and suggest some modifications to get better results. |
