| Abstract: | Over the decades, electronics technology has seen a rapid evolution. Memory chips are a fundamental part of electronics devices also has evolved a lot over time, i.e. in terms of dimensionality reduction, enhancement in storage efficiency. Presently available memory chips are SRAM, DRAM and flash memories. But due to rapidly increasing data and limitation of these memories in terms of dimentionality and power consumption, they are approaching their saturation limit. Henceforth, there is a need of new memory technology which can store high amount of data, consumes less power. This work demonstrates the fabrication of a nanoscale memory chip called “Memristor”, which overcomes the limitation of SRAM, DRAM, flash memories. The fabricated memristor is based on Halide perovskite (HP). Explicitly HP has been used because of its exceptional properties like low operating current, adjustable band-gap, ultralow leakage current. After fabrication, it has been characterised. This device exhibits the potential to be exploited for neuromorphic computing. |
