| Abstract: | Energy consumption is increasing day by day due to which various types of energy production are required. Hence to store various kinds of energy is a big challenge nowadays. The energy is stored either in electrical form or in non-electrical form. The electrical storage system can accept the energy either in electrical form or in non-electrical form, but it always gives returns the storage energy in electrical power output. Among different electrical energy storage devices, battery and supercapacitor are two main electrical energy storage devices. The supercapacitor has a high power density and cyclicity of more than 100000 cycles. The evaluation of the most relevant storage devices is considered on the basis of their lifespan, authenticity, storage capacity, price, and surrounding impact. From this point of view, supercapacitor, one of the important energy storage devices, have been noticed too much due to its wide range of applications because of its smaller size, high power density, lightweight and better cyclicity. The execution of SCs can be measured in terms of the electrochemical properties, which are measured in terms of the performance of electrode and electrolyte materials. The charge storage capacity of supercapacitor is significantly dependent on the selection of electrode material. Hence many studies have been carried out primarily on electrode material. Various studies on electrode material have been concluded, and better progression of advancement in performance and applied field of SCs have been gained. The comparison between Ed vs Pd of the various storage system is shown in the Ragone plot (Figure 1.1.). From the Ragone plot, it can be seen that SCs are playing a significant role in achieving a high Ed and Pd. |
