| Abstract: | With the ever-increasing demand of energy consumption and depleting of primary energy sources, there is a need to meet the energy gap with alternate ways of renewable energy sources along with maintaining sustainable development. The review of project deals with the analysis and study of various factors involved in harnessing solar energy intending to install the PV modules on water bodies rather than conventional modes of land mounting to generate energy with more efficiency, neutralising land requirements and saving water from evaporation without effecting the water environment. Keeping in mind the various factors such as the meteorological conditions of the site, temperature variation, water level variation, using the PVSyst software ,which provides the systematic simulation of the site ,giving maximum power generation to be around 146MWp from the tehri reservoir and around 4.6 Million cubic meters of water being saved from evaporation per year and around 5.23 million tons reduction of emission of CO2, offering to build a gap between the demand and supply of energy along with satisfying the environmental constraints ,thus proving to be more sustainable form renewable energy development. |
