| Abstract: | The 1ow energy coincident site lattice (CSL) boundaries (Σ≤29) will be generated on the surface of the 316l stain1ess steel through grain boundary engineering (GBE). 316L stain1ess stee1 is prepared by powder bed laser meta1 deposition which is additive manufacturing process. The deformation on the surface can be through the process 1ike be1t grinding, po1ishing on emery paper(60-grit), shot peening followed by annealing. The annealing conditions to be carried are collected from the various 1iteratures which have produced the overall CSL boundaries greater than 60%. Evo1ution of CSL boundaries is characterized by SEM. The microstructure and corrosion results have to be estimated. Nanoindentation technique is used to find the hardness, strain rate sensitivity of the material. |
