Abstract: Dehradun city is one of the oldest cities of India and it is famous for its weather, Institutes & organizations HQ, geographical features etc, and also known by the name of “Adobe of Drona”. This city is surrounded by various types of industries such as agro-based, manufacturing, oil & gas etc and most of the industries required water for their process and produces a large amount of waste water in the environment. As we know that, different types of industries produces wastes water of its own type. With increase in amount of waste water generation with time arises a question that where it should be disposed off . However, This city have a well planned network of pipes and sewerage management system for the disposal of waste water and sewage generated in the city. Sewage management system has been designed by considering many factors like environmental safety, geographical features, physiological barriers , natural slope etc. Dehradun City hosts seven Sewerage Treatments Plants (STPs) and all STPs is based upon SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) technology. In the present study , All STP of study area is selected by me. For 20 MLD Mothorawala-II STP, Ten waste water samples were collected from inlet and outlet sampling points of this treatment plant and analyzed for various major quality parameters , such as pH, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), Dissolved oxygen (DO), Total Suspended Solids (TSS).All the results of these ten samples is calculated by me. Based on these Parameters results the performance efficiency of treatment plants was calculated by me and compare it with the disposal standards. Percentage removal of these parameters like BOD and TSS stipulates the overall efficiency of the treatment plant. For other treatment plant, I have also try to find out the Efficiency based on previous year Data collection and Monthly samples results and also try to established a mathematical regression equation between BOD and TSS parameters of all STPs.The results of this study may be helpful in working or operation of the treatment plant and gives some idea about the BOD parameter which is our first priority in the Waste Water treatment process.
