Title: Design of Non-linear Absorber for a beam carrying unbalanced rotor

Abstract: Now a days advanced machines need vibration suppression devices which will have large effective vibration suppression which will operate on large frequency range and along with this simple in structure. For our problem we have used a GNES (Grounded nonlinear energy sink) to satisfy our requirements. Firstly, working principle and basic structure of this type of GNES is explained. Then, after analysis of the piecewise linear stiffness of the elastic rods the dynamic equations for our system are established and then after carrying out simulation to understand the vibration suppression effect of our GNES system. We compared our results with dynamic vibration absorber to see the effectiveness of our GNES.
