Abstract: Wear has always been a severe problem in the automotive and industrial sectors. Hence various efforts are being made to develop high wear resistance material. Although there are different standard wear tests for checking the wear resistance of the materials. But these tests are time consuming and cannot predict stress behavior. The finite element approach to stimulate dry sliding wear on the pin-on-disc arrangement is discussed in this research. The wear model was created on the Ansys Workbench 2021 R2 and in COMSOL Multiphysics using the material properties of CFB (carbide-free bainitic steel) and the appropriate processing parameters. We could not finish a complete simulation in Ansys due to the unavailability of a high configuration system. COMSOL Multiphysics 6.0 was used to complete the project. At various time scales and loads, the volume loss and stress distribution of the CFB was investigated.
