dc.description.abstractGuided waves (GWs), have been increasingly used for the analysis of flat sandwich structures owing to their large area inspection from a single location, sensitivity to small damages and inaccessible area monitoring abilities. Because of these merits, GW based inspection serves as 1 of the favorable technique for the health observation of various structure. GWs travel long distance with little energy loss. A lot of work has done out on transmission of waves of type leaky lamb through flat sandwich structures & detection of damage. Because of their excellent strength to weight proportion , better acoustic minimization, & high energy soaking properties, sandwich materials has widely used in the maritime, aerospace, & automotive industries is complex in the design & have their core thickness varying smoothly. GuidedWave transmission in Sandwich models via symmetric taper is in its nascent stage, this has triggered an interest in investigating the wave propagation phenomenon and analyzing the variation of guided wave characteristics with core thickness variation. Force on A0 mode is applied and investigated employing a commercial finite element package. This seminar reports highlights the work done by the researchers in the field of GW propagation in flat and taper structures and both type are taken as single plate and also sandwiched between two sheets of GFRC. Work has been done pertaining to the analysis of force applied by ensuring A0 mode and Group velocity is calculated at different nodes and the seminar report is concluded with some suggestions for future work.en_US
