Abstract: The rapid increase in the popularity of mobile devices with data processing capability to its highest has lead to the shortage in the radio spectrum. Also, mobile users are more particular about their own experience, such as the reliability of their communication service. This increase in the popularity of mobile devices has thrust notable challenges due to the insufficient licensed spectrum for cellular communication. In short, the densification of the network will lead to a severe challenge called inter-cell interference. Low-level interference communication will anytime be appreciated. In this article, we have done a literature survey on the importance of the unlicensed spectrum in modern-day communication. We tried to reach a mechanismbyperformingsimulation whereweshowedthatifuserscommunicating through cellular network or having a device to device (D2D) communication, is shifted to the unlicensed spectrum for communication, then performance can be improved. We have also shown the results in terms of interference, bitrate, and throughput, and also compared them.
