T GRID is a such type of grid in our power system , which is a bouquet of technologies that integrate electrical power system with electronic system , information technology and automation for quick and smooth monitoring of the power flow in our system. A smart grid encourages the integration of more renewable energy in the existing power system but it poses a greater threat on the stability of the power system due to the uncertainty in our solar and wind energy . Hence , a mechanism is required for the smooth operation and to maintain the stability of the system . Energy storage system is one the best mechanism for a reliable and stable operation of the smart grid . ESS is such type of technology, which can store the energy from the renewable sources during the peak generation and can meet the demand during peak hour time. Installation of the ESS at the distribution side which can provide power to the local households and these installations will also help to reduce the stress on the local transformers and enhance their operational life This will also act as a successful implementation of the smart grid.en_US
