Abstract: Due to the interdependencies between the applied installation methods and the numerous internal and external impacts involving loads and material behavior, as well as environmental factors, the construction of bridge superstructures is a very complex operation. Engineers are expected to come up with the most practical method of creating the project in a safe and cost-effective manner when preparing to build a bridge. Finding the best solution requires a comparison of several bridge-building approaches, as well as evaluation of the many means and procedures that can be used, as well as the consequences on schedule and money. The bridges itself, and even the peculiarities of the site where it will be built, must always be considered while evaluating various methods Prestress is one of the most important contributions made by this area to structural engineering, since it was the first method developed specifically to address the problem of managing stress on bridge components.. Until 1925, when new cable-stayed bridges were built and became widely employed, this approach was used with both interior and outside prestressed tendons. Jacques Mathivat suggested the concept of extradosed wires in 1988. The Intrados is the inner curve of an arch, or the bridge's soffit in case of a cantilever box girder bridge. Similarly, the arch's topmost surface is referred to as the extrados. According to Jacques Mathivat (1988), the term "extradosed" was given to refer to a unique cabling design he developed in which outside tendons were put across the deck rather than within the cross-section, as is the case with a girder bridge. In order to distinguish them from the cables that are present in a cable-stayed bridge, Mathivat called these shallow external tendons, which characterize the bridge's topmost surface, "extradosed" prestressing.
