The thesis deals with the problem of identifying the linear system by using subsidiary functions. It is divided into four chapters. The first chapter contains an introduc-tion to the problem of identLficattor a review of the litera-ture in this field and some contents of this work. The second chapter contains a 'new identification method based on orthonormal functions for identifying the parameters of linear systems,. The method uses the integrals of ortho.- normal functions as 'subsidiary" functions and leads to ant algebraic equation for the coefficients. The third chapter discusses stochastic case of linear system. The least square method has been used and the instrumental, variable method has been proposed, to estimate the parameters from a set of linear algebraic equation. The fourth and last Chapter contains a critical summary of results and suggestions for further investiga-tions. Appendices contains computer programmes and their result..en_US
