Abstract: In this study an attempt has been made to understand the transport of solute through dual permeability porous media. Solute is passed through two pore domains, moving at unequal velocities. Dual advection dispersion equation for solute transport is described and finite difference numerical model for dual advection dispersion transport equation is developed. Analyzed spatial and temporal concentration profiles and spatial moments for solute transport through porous media and the effect of first order mass transfer coefficient, retardation factor, first order degradation coefficient is studied. Various results of spatial moments are predicted in the presence of different values of mass transfer and first-order degradation and sorption coefficients. It is seen that the higher value of first-order degradation coefficient and mass transfer coefficient and sorption coefficient lead to reduce the magnitude of mean travel distance of solute plume.
