Abstract: Dclhi Development :,uthority proposes to build a 21-stor,yed office buil,:iing in Indraprastha Estate in a corner plot adjaccrft to Indian Medical Associati)n Building. The details of the soil investigations carried out for the ?esign of foundations of this building have been described. The results of various field and laboratory tests performed are mentioned and recommendations given for suitable foundations. The subsoil investigation records of several buildings in Delhi were reviewed to understand the subsoil conditions of the area in general. In certain cases, it is seen that the depth of rock varies at a faster rate and also erratically as compared to the horizontal distance covered on the ground.
