Issue Date: 1969
Abstract: The solution to the problem of obtaining the entire load~►defoT*ation (M0 — 0) history of a burp columnn in the elastic—plastic range has been .presented for throe different cases (i.e. without residual stress, with residual stress and strain hardening) . Moreover„ a pre—eyequisita relationship, existing between the bending moment and axial thrust acting on the arass"s ect ion, rewired for developing the load-dofot estion curve of the beau coluen for the above mentioned three cases, has been presented. l ! curves have been developed for three different end moment ratios fors each case. Igorev+ rg In each end moment ratio# the curves have been shown for various combinations of axial thrust and slenderness ratio. These solutions have been obtained on the assumptions that the member under investigation will fail due to excessive banding in th, plane of the applied moment.
