A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) constitutes of nodes that are all located in a predefined target area. Energy As the sensor node power is limited and it is difficult to be recharged, the energy aspect is a very relevant research aspect in this domain. Communication will cease to exist when the sensor node’s energy is fully depleted. This leads to the requirement of extension of network lifetime by reducing energy consumption. This paper studies energy consumption and network lifetime in a Dynamic and Heterogeneous WSN by employing a hybrid GWO-FCM model. It has outperformed LEACH(Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy),FCM(Fuzzy C Means Clustering),GWO (Grey Wolf Optimization),PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization),PSO-FCM, PSO-LEACH protocols. The simulation results show that GWO-FCM outperforms the other protocols.en_US
