| dc.description.abstract | In today's world, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) can be used as a movable base station (BS) due to its high mobility and flexibility in deployment. Since UAVs can easily move in 3-D space, it makes them very useful, especially in emergency scenarios. Whenever there is some emergency situation in an area, and there is a need for static or terrestrial base stations in that area, we can deploy UAVs that serve as BS. But in such situations, the power supply could be affected. Also, the battery capacity of the UAVs is limited. So, we can use social-awareness property and UAV-assisted information diffusion in emergency scenarios. In this, UAVs can disseminate the information it has received, and then the users can pass on this information to their social connections(users) in the form of device-to-device communication. So, we can select some of the users as central users so that UAVs will have to interact with these selected central users only, and these selected central users will pass on the information to their socially connected peers. This report contains the work done to select central users based on the Number of socially connected devices they have and the distance of it from these users. | en_US |
