In the context of today s rapidly evolving and competitive business landscape, the need for a workforce that is both innovative and proactive has become paramount. The increasing complexity of job roles and the fast pace of change often contribute to elevated stress levels, making it essential for employees to find ways to effectively manage their work resources and demands. Recent scholarly work proposed innovative work behaviour of employees as a secret ingredient that led to success. Subsequent studies widely supported the idea that innovative work behaviour, a tendency to explore, generate, promote, and implement novel ideas and ensure their sustainability within the workplace, indeed is an antecedent of several positive outcomes in an organizational context, including competitive advantage, organisational commitment, and innovative performance. However, there are still some unfilled gaps in the literature associated with innovative work behaviour that need to be addressed. Although previous research has shed light on the various antecedents of innovative work behaviour, there s still much to learn about how personal traits and proactive work behaviours serve as antecedents that influence or enhance employees innovative behaviour, particularly within the Indian context. Therefore, the present study aims to investigate the impact of emotional stability and job crafting as antecedents on innovative work behaviour. The present study examines explicitly how emotional stability and job crafting help in affecting the employees innovative work behaviour. An effort has been made to analyze how emotional stability and dimensions of job crafting (increasing structural job resources, increasing social job resources, increasing challenging job demands, decreasing hindering job demands) predict innovative work behaviour of employees. Furthermore, this research proposes and analyses a model of innovative work behaviour by examining the mediation effect of job crafting while establishing the relationship between emotional stability and innovative work behaviour. The current study also investigates the role of demographic variations (gender, age, organizational type and job position) on the employees emotional stability, job crafting and innovative work behaviour.en_US
