Abstract: Tribals in Wayanad District are migrating from their traditional habitats to urban centers due to a lack of economic opportunities, infrastructure, and awareness, resulting in the loss of traditional expertise in local area development. Tribes live in forest hills and naturally isolated regions, but some encounter people of modern culture through migration to cities for work, development projects in their area, people going to study their living, and now the government is attempting to bring them under the umbrella of sustainable development. These encounters can leave positive as well as negative impacts in their life. Tribes are also attracting an increasing number of academics to study them as they have specific local knowledge because of close interaction with natural and physical environments, as well as cultural adaptation that is eco-friendlier and more sustainable. The research simulates various policy scenarios from 2021 to 2041, aiming to achieve sustainable development.
