| dc.description.abstract | Memory plays an important role in our survival. It is a complex cognitive process that allows individuals to encode, store, and retrieve information from the brain. It also assists us in learning from past experiences and adapting our behavior to future situations. Nevertheless, it is important to understand the potential adverse impact of memories, particularly in cases where maladaptive memories associated with traumatic life events become excessively strong and persistent, thereby resulting in psychological disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, depression, addiction, and phobias. | en_US |
