The findings highlight the complexity of reaching holistic social sustainability in tourism-based regions. The study also shows that local voices are often neglected in decision-making. It emphasizes the necessity for greater inclusion of community voices in governance to ensure equitable and beneficial tourism improvement. The study also underscores the importance of inclusive public participation, equitable benefit distribution, and the role of NGOs in fostering social sustainability. It provides practical implications for policymakers, decision-makers, and local communities, emphasizing the need for strategies that prioritize long-term sustainability and incorporate community voices into governance processes.
