| dc.description.abstract | CHAdeMO® and CCS, two charging standards for electric vehicles, are continually changing. These standards push for faster battery charging rates, with a typical charge taking less than 30 minutes at a charging station. The primary purpose of a charging station is to supply the PHEV's battery with electricity while it is parked on the street or in a garage. Charging stations are part of the grid infrastructure. A battery pack's final stage of charging is handled by the onboard charger. The device transforms the AC power that comes from the EVSE into the charging profile for the battery. This report mainly focused on grid to vehicle charging system. It also shows brief description about these standards. There is different type of protocols which should be fallow to build these fast chargers for example CHAdeMO, CCS etc. Comparison should give more clear idea of selection. Various converter topologies and classification of charger should be giving more clear realization of selection to build these fast chargers. This report gives a brief about best and optimizes solution to make these chargers more effective, and to charge large numbers of EVs in market. It should be more users friendly, reliable, and safer to use. Study of bidirectional converter is carried out and come on result that for bidirectional power flow we have to use Dual Active Bridge converter. For Dual Active bridge output dc link voltage is control by varying phase shift and due to this phase shift power control is dependent just like in power system, greater will be the phase shift greater will be the power flow. In DAB due to lagging nature of current it is easy to maintain zero voltage Converter (ZVS). After that different modulation technique is studied in which we had mainly focused on SPS ( single phase shift) and DPS (Dual phase shift) and are studied in detail. After that on various parameter both these techniques are compared and in last conclusion are made and then after DAB converter is connected to the grid in which a different modulation technique is used and switches on primary bridge of DAB is reduced and after that last conclusion are made. | en_US |
