Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to design the bailey pontoon raft for military in the mission of crossing the rivers, streams or other water obstacles. Moreover, it can be used for society during natural disasters. It is easy to construct and transport. A pontoon raft consists of an assemblage of bailey bridge frames, inflatable rubber airbags alongwith an airpump and three outboard motors. The bailey bridge frames provide sufficient stiffness. The inflatable rubber airbags provide the buoyant force against gravity loads. And the three outboard motors are used for transportation of the raft from one place to another place anywhere on the water body (lake or river). The bailey pontoon raft can be used to carry and transport military vehicles, troops and materials on the water body. All of the components are either readily available in the market or can be easily fabricated. can be made easily transportation, such as vehicles, boats, flights and troops can also be used. The bailey frame can be adjusted for different loads such as tanks, trucks and other vehicles or goods. We can change easily size of bailey pontoon raft to the requirements. During natural disasters, they can be used not only for saving lives but also for transporting people and goods. My country, Myanmar, has many rivers and numerous lakes, and I serve in the Army of Myanmar. Therefore, bailey pontoon raft can be very useful for Myanmar military and society.
