| Abstract: | The acoustic emission (AE) technique is extensively used in the real-time damage characterization and monitoring fracture process in the concrete structures subjected to static to cyclic loading types. The stress waves of signal frequencies are used to understand crack propagation and its development. This method is used for structural health monitoring and to identify active micro-crack in the material. The parameter and b-value analyses were performed on data collected during a laboratory test on M30 plain concrete and fibre reinforced concrete specimens. An AE system is loaded and continually monitored. The AE parameters gathered were analyzed. The applied load, a damage parameter, and the crack on the specimen are compared to the b-value. Furthermore, Several factors are observed and examined during AE measurement to reveal aspects of micro fracturing behaviors in materials. During this study, moment tensor analysis was also performed to detect cracking kinematics in location and crack kind. The position of the AE sources may be established using this technique, and they can be classified as shear or tensile modes of fractures. Under static three-point loading, the notched concrete specimen size of 890mm*300mm*80mm ruptured. The Moment Tensor Analysis examined the AE waveforms produced during the collapse. The output data showed that Moment tensor analysis could be used to discover the type of cracks at AE sources. |
