Abstract: The cable-stayed bridge is an aesthetic icon in the field of Engineering. This type of bridge is prevalent and used in western countries like China, Europe and U.S.A. The cable-stayed bridge gained popularity among engineering firms because they require less material, money, and concrete. These long-run bridges support the movement of maximum traffic. The Pylons are the load-bearing compression members of the bridge. The cables are the diagonal members that channel the load from the deck towards the Pylon. Later this load is transferred to the foundation below the towers. The shape of the pylons and arrangement of cables is chosen in such a way that they should withstand all the various types of loads. Now a day’s very large span length cable stayed bridge are being constructed in world but in India this type of bridge are very less popular. Only few have been constructed in India till now like Atal Setu in Goa, Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai, Kota Chambal bridge in Kota Rajasthan, New Yamuna Bridge in Prayagraj, Ram Jhula in Nagpur, Vidyasagar-Setu in Kolkata, Signature Bridge in East Delhi are few others. Structural design of cable stayed bridge is basically not a major issue, The main problem occur construction stage. The bridge in launched stage by stage by the cantilever method.
