Title: INVESTIGATION OF IMPACT BRHAVIOUR OF RC SLAB WITH DIFFERENT REINFOCEMENT RATIOS

Abstract: Low velocity impact loading has been loaded on multiple structural elements of any structure, but majorly it affects slab as the prominent member during their service life. As we all know that the duration of impact loading is quiet short, so the effect of quasi-static loading has been lower than the effect of strain rates. And, because of it, the responses of structure and modes of failure will be different. This current study focused to evaluate the dynamic behaviour of RC Slabs subjected to dynamic impact loading. In the experimental investigation of this thesis, nine RC Slabs having the dimension of 1000*1000*80 mm were investigated. There are two experimental variables considered in this particular study named as rebar ratio and input impact energy. A general set up of drop-hammer testing machine was used to imposed drop hammer load on RC Slabs. Three different drop heights as 1000. 1250 & 1500 mm were used in this investigation, which further produce three types of different input impact energy with the help of hammer whose weight is measured as 84kg. Different time histories of impact load and maximum displacements were drawn. It has been observed a fair accordance between experimental investigation and finite element analysis. So, it is concluded that this numerical programme (FEAP) is allowed to evaluate the dynamic behaviour of RC Slab under dynamic impact loading.
