| dc.description.abstract | When it comes to developing significant and critical structures, such as bridges, nuclear structure, military bunkers, storage structure concrete is widely used because it is corrosion and fire resistant, highly durable and non-porous. In the present study penetration tests were conducted on square 450*450 mm and 50mm thickness plain and reinforced concrete. In reinforced concrete, 8mm diameter steel bar with 80 mm center-to-center spacing is employed. The steel bar is shaped into a grid and placed in the centre of the concrete slab. The 500g projectile is also intended for impact testing. The resistance to blast of both the plain and reinforced concrete targets is investigated by striking them with projectiles. The research of residual velocity is also carried out in our study since it is highly crucial as the projectile enters into vital structures and it may cause heavy damage and to avoid these we have to take remedial measures so that we can prevent it in future. | en_US |
