| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, an effort has been made to analyse the skew bridges while varying the skew angle. For the analysis purpose, 3 simply supported bridges with varying carriageway width and longitudinal girders were considered and was modelled in MIDAS 2021 software. The bridges were modelled at different skew angles and construction stage analysis was also done. Skew angle was varied from 00 to 450 at an interval of 50 each. The bridges were analysed as per the grillage analysis and the moving load was placed as per IRC 6:2017. Bending Moment and Shear Force of each bridge with varying skew angle at different construction stage was also analysed. The bridges were again modelled as per the plate analysis and a comparative study was carried out between grillage and plate analysis. The detailed and parametric study proved to be useful in giving deep understanding about the analysis of skew bridges with varying skew angle. The main parameter considered were skew angle, spacing between the longitudinal girder, width of the carriageway and thickness of the deck slab. Finally on the basis of the analysis, regression analysis was done to derive an equation for the bending moment and shear force to find out the same using the derived equation, given the parameters. The findings will be helpful for the engineers working in the analysis of skew slab bridges. | en_US |
