Almost 10 districts of C.G. are affected by Naxal including Bastar. The movement started for "Rights" now turned into politically motivated violence. Bastar is an ideal strategic location due to the Dandakaranya forests. It has been affecting the development of the Bastar region for decades. Huge funds are invested to maintain peace in the region, yet it couldn't reach to the expected level. The native tribal population of Bastar has been alienated from the outer world. The problem is intermingled with inter and intra-state politics, inter-departmental politics between the forces, personal and ancestral grudges, and so on that solving it is not an easy hit. However, the current emphasis is on crushing the Naxalites and not on eliminating the Rural poverty.en_US
