| dc.description.abstract | Prefabrication turned out to be a better option in place of conventional building. In past few decades prefabrication has gained too much attention as a solution to the sustainable construction. Designers and builders are working on integrating the SDGs in building projects. The literature review made it clear that the existing study is focusing on making prefabricated construction more efficient in India. PMAY has initiated housing for all initiative which envisions around 34 million dwelling units for urban and rural poor. The huge task of construction will require huge resources in terms of materials, labor, engineering, management that too without affecting mother earth. So if the possibility of growth is enormous then we need some innovative and effective method. GOI has identified few innovative prefabrication technologies with the help of BMTPC and has started housing projects throughout India. While designing these government body has taken care of different sustainability parameters for construction and for performance. But there is some research gap to the best of my knowledge that have been identified in materials for the construction. This study will evaluate and investigate the performance of these materials by comparing them among themselves by taking transmittance value of materials into consideration for overall sustainable performances of prefabrication. This study will provide guidelines/ recommendations for the construction industry of India through which we can imagine a holistically sustainable built environment. | en_US |
