Visual style is represented in traditional art forms like painting, sculpture, and architecture and is present in various media like animation, film, games, graphics, sculpture, architecture, and fashion. Most of the studies conducted in this domain are in graphics and art, and very few studies focus on production media like film, animation, and games. This study proposes to analyse different animated films, which will help cross-check the effectiveness of existing design principles or theories of visual styles in animated films. It will help understand how Indian viewers perceive various visual elements consciously or unconsciously. Despite the popularity of animated films, there is still a lack of comprehensive research on how diverse visual styles are applied across different cultures and origins. This research explores visual styles in animated films, focusing on evolution, human behaviour, reaction, engagement, and user preferences. This research will help further research the visual style of the animated film industry and can help various stakeholders. Mixed methods are used as a research methodology as they collect both qualitative and quantitative data and are the most appropriate research tools for studying complex topics like an exploration of the visual style of animation. This study analyses 2D and 3D animated movies and develops a decision-making tool useful for designers and professionals from related fields.en_US
