| Abstract: | The automotive industry is undergoing a notable transition towards electric cars (EVs) due to technological progress, alterations in regulations, and environmental concerns. This shift increases the need for dependable and effective supply chains for EV battery parts. To optimize the supply chain, it is essential to comprehend the complexity associated with component sourcing, manufacture, and distribution. Major battery-producing countries are systematically building up their local supply chains to obtain a competitive edge. This study examines the factors impacting the dynamics of the local supply chain for EV battery components in India, as well as the opportunities and challenges in this market. Expert opinions will be solicited to enrich the analysis. Furthermore, the study seeks to delineate the most suitable criteria for selecting suppliers of EV battery components to facilitate informed decision-making in establishing a domestic supply chain. A robust and efficient supply chain is paramount for EV production's success, and identifying optimal supplier selection criteria is pivotal in achieving this objective. |
