Abstract: The Electric charge induced on surfaces through application of mechanical stress has fascinated researchers. The device that caters to the application of the effect is termed nanogenerator. Contact electrification dates to approximately 400 B.C. where it appeared in Plato’s dialogue Timaeus, today the energy harvesters can be utilized to harvest this ubiquitous energy of nature. Energy harvesting from the mechanical source relies on materials with different electron affinities, to achieve a highly efficient energy harvesting, choosing material with high surface charge density is crucial. Odd numbered polyamides (Nylon 11) are promising due to their highly electron donating capability and possibility to achieve higher dipole alignment, thus providing high surface potential. The use of Nylon 11 is limited due to the extreme conditions and high voltage poling process required for dipole alignment. Out of various crystal structures of Nylon 11 achieved by typical fabrication processes. The δ’ pseudo hexagonal phase was found to show the ferroelectric behavior. In this investigation perovskite was incorporated into the δ phase of nylon 11 to enhance the contact electrification performance of the δ phase of nylon 11.
