dc.description.abstractThis comprehensive experimental study investigates the hydraulic performance of a range of LIP profile gates. Through extensive experimentation, the study examines the influence of various factors such as gate angles, openings, and flow conditions on flow behavior. Altering gate shapes, including rectangle, 300, 450, 450 grooved, 600, and cylinder, alongside adjustments in horizontal widths, allows for the analysis of diverse flow behaviors. Parameters such as discharge coefficient, contraction coefficient, hydrostatic force, kinetic and potential energy, and gate opening to upstream height ratio (𝑌𝑔𝑌1⁄) are analyzed. The findings unearth specific flow behaviors applicable to different sluice gate applications. This analysis aids in the engineering design of sluice gates, facilitating the identification of parameters suitable for different applications. Understanding the nuanced interactions between gate geometry and flow characteristics enables engineers to tailor sluice gate designs to specific requirements, optimizing their performance across various scenarios. Ultimately, this research contributes valuable insights to the field of hydraulic engineering, guiding the development of more efficient and effective water management systems and hydraulic structures.en_US
