Abstract: DC microgridshaveemergedasapromisingsolutionforenhancingthestability,re- liability,andefficiencyofDCpowerdistributionsystems,particularlyinremoteor off-grid areas.However,theintegrationofrenewableenergysources,energystorage systems, andvariousloadsinDCmicrogridshasintroducednewchallenges,particu- larly infaultdetectionandisolation.Thisabstractprovidesacomprehensivereview of faultdetectiontechniquesinDCmicrogrids,highlightingrecentadvancementsand identifyingareasforfutureresearch. The abstractbeginsbyoutliningthesignificanceoffaultdetectioninDCmi- crogrids, emphasizingitsroleinensuringtheuninterruptedoperationofthesystem and preventingpotentialdamagetoequipment.Varioustypesoffaultscommonly encounteredinDCmicrogrids,suchaspole-to-polefaultsandpole-to-groundfaults, are discussed,alongwiththeirpotentialimpactsonsystemperformance. FaultdetectioninDCmicrogridsisacriticalaspectofensuringthestabilityand reliabilityofDCpowerdistributionsystems.Throughthecontinuedadvancementof detection techniquesandtheexplorationofinnovativesolutions,thechallengesasso- ciated withfaultdetectioninDCmicrogridswereeffectivelyaddressed,facilitating the transitiontowardamoresustainableandresilientenergyinfrastructure.
